I’m happy to announce my new book SELECT to Ship: MariaDB for Application Developers. Even though I didn’t work on it full-time, the project took a lot of effort over two years. It was worth it, and I hope people find it useful as they learn about databases in general and MariaDB in particular.

Cover for the book SELECT to Ship: MariaDB for Application Developers

I wrote this book with application developers and everyone who wants to sharpen their database game in mind. It contains everything from the basics and advanced topics in SQL to moving to production environments. If you are planning to use MariaDB for your next project, this book is for you.

This time, I went self-publishing. Having published three books with well-known publishers in the past (Packt and Apress/Springer Nature), I accumulated enough experience to know what it takes for a book project to succeed in producing a high-quality book. It required me to do more than just write a manuscript, but I didn’t do it alone. I’m grateful to have help from what I called “the book team”-amazing people that took care of reviewing, editing, and designing: Simon, Johan, Marcy, and Angélica. I also was privileged to have Kaj Arnö (Executive Chairman at the MariaDB Foundation) writing an amazing foreword to the book.

The book is available in paperback and Kindle editions on Amazon:
